Good Friday

 IU lost out last night , life goes on. So they say.      Went to the Good Friday services today at St Anthony's in Missoula , A very touching service, no need to tell you the premise, but will . It is the recollections  of St John ,during the last days of Christ's life. How his closest  disciples turned on him in the time of need, showing how weak man can be. After all the miracles and cool things Jesus did for them they , under duress ,denied knowing him. How alone he must have felt, knowing the outcome of the weekend , how he must have felt totally alone. Sad......During the service today I sat close to a 30 something man who was off.... Not sure what his diagnosis would have been but he was off..... Very devout young man who struggled to contain himself.......seemed to struggle to just sit still and be quiet . Came in by himself, dressed  normally except for his leather jacket on which he had written in marker "I Love Jesus" ..........I watched him and felt great empathy for him, obviously he felt at home in church, followed the ceremony with fervor at times just shaking with emotion. I want to say I felt sorry for him.....but for that hour he probably could say the same for me.....As I sit here my thoughts go to him... How alone he seemed locked in a struggle with himself, when mass was over he was back in the world  , it must be very scarring at times.Can 't help but feel sad ,thru no fault of his he probably will live a life of  anxiety never having true peace. You never know what goes on in people's lives but no doubt he was battling demons .  But for the Grace of God ,There go I..... Apologies for not painting a better picture, hope next time you see someone like this , say a prayer for  them to find Peace.

March madness

    I've been watching a lot of college BB lately, Hoosiers are fortunate to be Marching on to the next weekend. I feel coaching is overrated, to the point, I recall our final game this year in the Hellgate grade school finals. I was coaching a team of  very athletic Grandchildren lets look at the lineup.  Our point guard  number 12 Caitrin Harrington 3'5  great quickness, sees the court well ,doesn't look to shoot enough, breaks into Ballet moves when doesn't have the ball. Number 33 Off guard Spencer Laird a real match up problem with good size at 4' 2" , plays tenacious defense , shooting the three at .0003 percent so that is good, struggles to stay on the court ,drifts to the sideline to help with the cheerleaders. Small forward Emmy Laird 3'6" goes by nickname "Farley" tough as nails, leads with her head and doesn't backdown usually put her on the teams best scorer, can go either way and often does. Power forward number 55 Keira Harrington don't let her size fool you 3'3" incredible Hops , in fact she often stands on the baseline and hops. Pound for pound the toughest player in the League, voted "The Player most likely hurt you". Next without question Our MVP  Big Man Declan Harrington  stands at 4'7" what can't he do ? NOTHING, Ok I'm prejudice . He can get caught standing in the lane, usually on his head, does try to talk refs out of every call, mostly successfully. But is feared by all when he turns to the basket DO NOT get in his way ,High flier will Dunk ON YOU!  Our bench is strong , number 66 Jack Laird 2'10" shows great promise, a real student of the game, pretty quick from the chair to the couch. Number88 Cormac Harrington stands ,well actually sits up at 2'3" , not quite ready ,league will not allow johnnie jump ups on the floor yet so provides great support from the bench. Found that no matter what this coach did this squad succeeded ,went thru the league undefeated 10 and O, Have the Banner to prove it. Hoping to put together a killer baseball team need two more players.....come on Mitch.

the question is

I' ve just spent two and a half days with" Willie the grain cleaning Hoot". every spring he comes round to clean our seed wheat, and really what he brings is entertainment that is priceless. He regales us with story after story about growing up on the Colony, such as the time the Dandelion wine went bad and a bunch of the kids lost use of their legs for sometime. or as Willie put it, "Oh Hell it wasn't that bad got us out of work for a few days".  And then there was that time they set Jake up in the barn with that pen of sheep and Sarah.......... Oh Willie you So Crazy. That is enough of that what I really want to bring to the blog is the question, " If you had to be ONE which would you choose To be Ugly or Stupid?........Not an easy choice,  Let it be Known your faithful blogger confesses to be both, so I come to you  with an open  and empty mind.
This subject came up when Rita and I were enroute to a city on the Hi-Line called Havre Mt. to do some shopping, it's not unusual for our conversation to turn from the sublime to the ridiculous.  I digress like a drunk Irishman on St Patty's Day.     So anyhoo  For reference Havre has a city Motto "Havre Has It"  to which my response has always been "And Penicillin cures it". That sums up Havre,  so I decided to take my question to the street , ask your average citizen which would you choose?  My plan was to ask the first ten people I ran into in the Mall, as luck would have it there were only 8 people IN the Mall so I had to wake up two clerks.  The survey had an International flavor to it, alas 2 were from Saskatchewan Canada, the Province  who is famous for two things. Being the home of Dougie Gilmore  and having a town named Moose Jaw. The first rspondant was a 20 something male  (i think) with a red stripe in his blonde hair which only caught your eye after the tattoo on his face.  Dear Sir your response to the Question please.... Whaaaaaaat?.......................Next up was a nice couple down to do some shoppingf from Climax Sask.  Fairly normal looking people, I started with humor asking "So what would it be like if I went to Climax?"   (get it)  . Response  Whaa aaaaaat .............at least they weren't ugly. It went on like this for sometime until the rent a cop  who came in at 275 and stood 5 feet 6 with two buttons missing on his "Uniform" , asked me " I'm gonna half to axe youse to pleeese leave the promises".  I slowly walked to my Pick-up, with the realization that in fact Your Honor these two choices are Not mutually exclusive but in Fact they more times than not are indeed the Norm...........................Must go , late for my facial and pedicure must look good for our Friday night Mensa meeting

Just getting ready for spring seeding here, not much going on, it is one of my favorite times of the year, March Madness. Hoping for a deep run in the tourney for my Hoosiers, but it has been a crazy year , the Jack Rabbits from South Dakota might be the favorites. You can't count out the Flames from Liberty U.  I still Hate Duke. As for Gonzaga.....really?  By the way if any of you find the need for 6500 gallons of water,  call me . Rodman went over to Korea on a good will mission, how about we send O'J over to do Karzai in Afghanistan. Getting some crazy comments  from other blogs, I'm telling you right now I don't need any Testosterone treatments thank you very much and when I buy my Lingerie I buy local . The Sage Creek Hutterite Colony girls make the most darling burlap Teddies, really gets you itching to  go, if you know what I mean. Gun sales are thru the roof still, ammunition is sold out evrywhere  Obama  might think about  putting strong regulations on Electric cars,    let it sink in.....now you get it.  Better get to bed with this damn time change the old fat farmer tires out.

Asked what they do with their time now since the election.   I paraphrase"  We like to spend time with our Grandchildren, going into large open spaces and the children kick and throw balls"  almost word for word  .  Who the Hell talks like that.  What he meant was We  go to the park and throw the ball around. Kind of reminds me of John Kerry response when asked about NASCAR  are you a fan Mr Kerry?  "Why whom amongst us isn't a fan".  What a bunch of freaks.

just a quick note Iman had a story on this morning about a Nursing Home in California, where some person went nto Cardiac Arrest. Their response was the story. The policy of the Home is CPR will not be performed on premises. Where the Hell will you do it.  "Well we feel it would be appropriate in most Kindergarten classes, Possibly up in a lot of middle schools it could be performed.  As for High School welllllllll we feel it would be against our society's best interest to resuscitate them." You know is this the result of King Obama's Edict.  Your thoughts got to get to work
