Daisy
She could hardly wait for bedtime so she could .again be with her friend Nancy. dishes were done as always, in time for Lawrence Welk to entertain not just her household , but most of the houses in the small town , that Daisy called home. Tonight was Saturday , Grampa Andrew was over for supper as usual, staying for just a couple of numbers from his personal friend Mr. Welk, then a peck on his cheek from all five girls then on home. Grandpa never said much but with his eyes he communicated much, Daisy at times felt sadness around Andrew, never really knowing why.Time for homework, a rootbeer float and popcorn, and then off to bed. Dad and Mom would routinely tuck everyone in and kiss goodnight with Daisy saying Love you with the response from Mom I love you Daisy and from Dad a subtle Me too, Daisy thought it was harder for her folks to express themselves because of their upbringing, saying to herself When I have kids they will hear I LOVE YOU a lot. She never felt bad about it just thought about it like a lot of thoights that go thru a 12 year olds mind. Finally when all was quiet, under the covers with her faithful flashlight and her friend Nancy drew. Oh Nancy what kind of trouble are we going to get into tonight! We all need good friends . to be continued Love You Daisy
